The Lower Rio Grande Valley Bird Migration Study hosts an awards program for student art (paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media) related to nocturnal bird migration over the LRGV. This art opportunity is open to students associated with art classes at the schools participating in the bird migration study. 

The 2024-2025 award program began with these guidelines. Schools were awarded for the gallery of student artwork they submitted. A school's body of artwork was ranked by level of student engagement and creativity on the topic. In addition, ten students whose art stood out among all the entries were acknowledged.
